Dear Luminous Leader,
We know that there are many benefits of having friend relationships.
Let’s look at how you can nurture those friendships into healthy ones. Developing and maintaining your friendships involves give-and-take by both parties.
Sometimes you’ll be the one giving support while during other moments you will be the one in need of support. Let your friends know you care about them.
Display your appreciation for them in order to strengthen the bond you have for one another.
Nurture your friendships by:
1. Be Kind.
- This is the easiest and most-basic behavior learned from childhood. It’s the core of any successful, adult relationship dynamic.
2. Listen Openly.
- Ask what’s going on in their lives. Pay close attention by showing them your listening through eye contact, body language, and an occasional comment.
- Be empathetic when they need comfort and only give advice when they ask for it.
3. Build Intimacy with Your Friends by Being Open about Yourself.
- Share personal experiences and concerns. Your ability to be transparent will make them feel more comforable with sharing their inner most feelings.
4. Be Available to Them.
- Make it a priority to see friends regularly and check in with them when you can’t meet in person.
5. Be Responsible and Trustworthy.
- Keep your engagements and arrive on time. Follow through with your commitments you made to them. Remember to keep their confidential information private.
Just know that it’s never too late to cultivate connections with new and old friends.
Invest the time and strengthen your friendships, and I promise you won't regret it.
Until next time,
~ CBB
