Dear Luminous Leader,
Our minds will take us to trouble and keep us stuck if we let it - and with all the information we absorb daily, our mind is going to find problems.
When you get stuck in your own head you don’t see what you need to in order to find your inner peace with your purpose.
One way to cultivate inner peace is to shift your focus away from your thoughts in your head.
Get to know yourself by keeping a journal, meditation, spending time listening to your thoughts.
It’s about getting quiet and getting all the thoughts out of your head.
- Tell others what you are up to. When you find your emotions and thoughts getting the better of you, seek help from others. It can be a trusted friend, a coach, mentor, or a professional therapist.
- Focus on the ones you love. Do something little to help someone else. This forces you to get out of your own head for a while.
- Have some alone time. It can be extremely helpful to spend time alone to gather your thoughts, reset or calm down and revitalize yourself.
- Go for a walk in the park, sit in nature, take a relaxing bath.
When you get stuck in your head and can’t find your way out, try doing something physical.
- You could exercise, go for a brisk walk, build something, fix something, do the dishes, clean the house, reorganize your office or any other number of physical activities.
- Do something fun when you feel down or overwhelmed. This helps you to change your perspective, thought process, and experience something different.
What do you enjoy doing? Do more of that.
- Listen to music, watch a comedy, dance, play a game with a child, or joke with your friends.
- Maybe even jump in muddy puddles, climb a tree, cuddle your dog cook or go for a bike ride just to give you few ideas.
Getting out of your head when you are pondering your purpose and feeling overwhelmed by it all is necessary to keep moving forward.
Until next time,
~ CBB
